The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and questions concerning baptismal wording.
A newborn baby is expected to grow. If years pass and the child never develops, something is wrong. The New Testament uses that same picture to describe Christians. A person […]
Mark 1:4 and Luke 3:3 explicitly connect John’s baptism with remission of sins. Why, then, were the men in Acts 19 baptized in Jesus’ name? This KJV study examines the covenant change,…
Many people sincerely say: “I FOLLOW JESUS.” That is exactly what every Christian should desire to do. But sometimes another statement follows: “I FOLLOW JESUS, NOT A BOOK.” That raises […]
The New Testament repeatedly uses a small but extremely important expression: “IN CHRIST.” Paul wrote: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…” 2 Corinthians 5:17 […]
ABOUT THE AUTHOR ABOUT THE AUTHOR KEVIN L. WALKER Kevin L. Walker is a Christian, husband, father, grandfather, United States Navy veteran, retired Senior Chief Petty Officer, businessman, Bible teacher, […]
Biblical humility affects how we pray, receive correction, obey God, serve others, and respond to recognition. This KJV study examines the Pharisee and publican, Apollos, Naaman, Christ’s example, and Paul’s instruction, with…
Quoting Scripture does not guarantee a correct interpretation. Examine Satan’s misuse of a promise, the Sadducees’ resurrection argument, the Pharisees’ divorce argument, and Peter’s warning about distorted Scripture. This KJV study develops…
The Biblical Pattern of Church Organization Who has the right to determine how the church is organized? The answer begins with Christ. His Word establishes the pattern, identifies the responsibilities, […]
Many sincere people have been taught: “Once saved, always saved.” According to this teaching, once a person has truly been saved, it is impossible for that person ever to lose […]
The expression “born again” is familiar to almost everyone who has heard the gospel. People sometimes use it to describe having a religious experience, accepting Jesus into their heart, beginning […]
The central principle behind The Biblical Pattern is simple: ALLOW SCRIPTURE TO INTERPRET SCRIPTURE. But what does that actually mean? It means that when we encounter a difficult passage, symbol, […]
Few books of the Bible have produced as much disagreement, speculation, and confusion as the book of Revelation. Some approach Revelation by beginning with today’s newspaper. Others begin with modern […]
Obeying the gospel is the beginning of the Christian life—not the end. When a person hears the gospel, believes in Jesus Christ, repents of sin, confesses Christ, and is baptized […]
If God has revealed a pattern for salvation and a pattern for His church, we should also ask: HAS GOD REVEALED HOW HIS PEOPLE ARE TO WORSHIP HIM? Jesus said: […]
Jesus did not come into the world to establish hundreds or thousands of different churches teaching conflicting doctrines. He promised to build His church. Jesus said: “…upon this rock I […]
Peter explicitly commanded water baptism after the Spirit fell on Cornelius’s household.
John 1 distinguishes the Word from the things made: the Word was with God, was God, and all made things came through Him. Colossians 1:16–17 likewise places all creation under His creative work and describes Him as before all things.
Revelation’s numbered company must be read within its apocalyptic vision and tribal description. The same chapter presents a multitude no man could number before the throne. A symbolic vision does not by itself establish two different gospel invitations.
Acts 13:2 records the Holy Ghost speaking and directing the separation of Barnabas and Saul. First Corinthians 12:11 describes the Spirit distributing gifts as He wills. These are personal actions, not merely measurements of energy.
At Jesus’s baptism the Son is baptized, the Spirit descends, and the Father speaks from heaven. John 17 records the Son addressing the Father and speaking of glory with Him before the world was. These statements cannot be reduced to one person speaking only to Himself.
First Corinthians 15 connects the gospel to Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, with witnesses to His risen life. Paul then argues that denying resurrection undermines the gospel and the Christian hope.
