Kevin L. Walker is a Christian, husband, father, grandfather, United States Navy veteran, retired Senior Chief Petty Officer, licensed health insurance professional, business owner, Bible teacher, Christian apologist, writer, and devoted student of God’s Word.

Kevin and his wife, Marilyn, have been married for more than forty years. They have three daughters and three grandchildren. Throughout the years, his family, military career, professional life, and service in the church have helped shape the discipline, preparation, and commitment he brings to the study of Scripture.

Kevin served twenty-three years in the United States Navy, retiring in 2002 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. His naval career taught him the importance of leadership, responsibility, accountability, careful preparation, and adherence to established standards—principles that have also influenced the way he approaches God’s Word.

Following his military retirement, Kevin began a second career in the health insurance industry with Florida Blue. During his twenty-two years with the company, he progressed through positions of increasing technical and leadership responsibility and eventually served in management. His career with Florida Blue continued until July 2025, when his position was eliminated as part of an organizational change.

Kevin subsequently established First Light Wellness Ventures, Inc., through which he continues serving individuals and families as a licensed health insurance professional and business owner.

More important to Kevin than his military or professional career is his commitment to Jesus Christ, His church, and the truth of God’s Word. Since obeying the Gospel, Kevin has devoted himself to studying, teaching, proclaiming, and defending Scripture.

Kevin has served the Lord’s church in several capacities, including as a deacon, an elder, and a Bible-class teacher. His years of service have also included preaching, personal evangelism, Christian apologetics, religious correspondence, working with members of the congregation, and helping others understand and defend the truth revealed in Scripture.

For more than two decades, Kevin has participated in detailed discussions with people of differing religious beliefs. These discussions have addressed salvation, faith and works, repentance, confession, baptism, the new birth, grace and obedience, the Holy Spirit, miraculous gifts, biblical covenants, eternal security, worship, religious authority, denominationalism, the identity and organization of Christ’s church, biblical inspiration, prophecy, and challenges to Christianity.

His purpose in those discussions has not merely been to state what he believes. He has continually sought to examine the passages being used, compare them with the rest of Scripture, and determine whether the conclusions being presented are consistent with the whole counsel of God.

Kevin’s approach also requires a willingness to examine his own beliefs as carefully as the beliefs of others. He does not believe a religious position should be defended merely because it is familiar, inherited, or sincerely held. If an understanding can be demonstrated from Scripture to be incorrect, it must be abandoned regardless of how long it has been believed.

His guiding principle is simple:

ALLOW SCRIPTURE TO INTERPRET SCRIPTURE.

Rather than beginning with a theological system, denominational creed, religious tradition, personal experience, or modern speculation and then searching for passages that appear to support it, Kevin believes the student of the Bible should begin with Scripture itself.

Each passage should be examined within its immediate and historical context. Scripture should be compared with Scripture. Clear passages should help provide the framework for understanding more difficult passages. The entire counsel of God should be considered before reaching a conclusion.

Kevin’s interest in Internet evangelism began long before social media became the dominant means of online communication. He taught himself HTML and created online material devoted to biblical teaching and apologetics. He later used platforms such as MySpace and Facebook to publish Bible studies and engage others in discussions concerning salvation, the church, worship, Christian living, and the defense of New Testament Christianity.

Over the years, Kevin has also compiled extensive Bible-study materials, including topical studies, evangelistic resources, church bulletins, correspondence, apologetics material, and collections designed to help others locate and examine biblical answers. These efforts have consistently served the same purpose: to encourage people to open the Scriptures, study passages in context, compare Scripture with Scripture, and allow God’s Word to provide the final answer.

That approach became especially important in Kevin’s study of the Book of Revelation. He observed that many interpretations begin with modern political developments, current events, or prophetic systems constructed long after Revelation was written. His study instead begins by asking what the rest of Scripture had already revealed concerning Revelation’s language, covenants, kingdoms, symbols, prophetic imagery, judgments, promises, church, and victory of Christ.

This conviction led to the writing of How the Scriptures Reconcile the Book of Revelation: How the Law, the Prophets, Jesus Christ, and the Apostles Provide the Biblical Framework for Understanding Revelation.

The book approaches Revelation by beginning with the rest of the Bible. It traces the covenant language, prophetic imagery, kingdom themes, judgment language, and promises found throughout the Law, the Prophets, the teachings of Jesus Christ, Acts, and the Epistles before examining how those established biblical patterns appear in Revelation.

Kevin’s second major writing project, From New Birth to Maturity: God’s Pattern for Christian Growth, examines the Christian life from conversion to spiritual maturity, fruitfulness, perseverance, and faithfulness until death.

The book presents Christian growth not as a human system of spiritual advancement but as a biblical pattern involving nourishment by the Word, renewal of the mind, transformed conduct, godly character, prayer, fellowship, love, service, endurance, repentance, restoration, and continued faithfulness to Christ.

Kevin’s purpose in writing is not to establish a new theological system or ask readers merely to accept his conclusions. His desire is to encourage Christians and other serious students of the Bible to open the Scriptures, examine the evidence, compare passage with passage, and determine whether the conclusions presented are consistent with the Word of God.

That same purpose guides The Biblical Pattern. The website exists to provide Bible studies, articles, books, and other resources examining the patterns God has revealed concerning salvation, the church, worship, Christian living, prophecy, judgment, and other biblical subjects.

The Biblical Pattern does not present itself as a new church, denomination, or separate religious organization. Its purpose is to encourage people to study God’s Word carefully and allow Scripture to interpret Scripture.

Kevin’s continuing work in Bible study, writing, teaching, evangelism, and apologetics reflects the conviction that has guided him for years:

God’s Word is inspired.

God’s Word is sufficient.

God’s Word is authoritative.

God’s Word must be allowed to speak for itself.

Kevin’s desire is expressed in the words of Ecclesiastes 12:13:

“Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.”

And when his earthly work is finished, he hopes to hear the words of the Lord recorded in Matthew 25:21:

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
