The Biblical Pattern exists to help every reader examine God’s Word for themselves. Our governing principle is simple and unchanging:
We examine context, compare Scripture with Scripture, consider the original audience, pay attention to biblical vocabulary and Old Testament backgrounds, and test every conclusion by the Word of God rather than by denominational creeds or human tradition.
The Biblical Pattern was created so that beginning students, growing Christians, mature Bible students, and those seeking the gospel can study carefully and let God’s Word provide the governing framework for faith and practice.
Kevin’s purpose is not to make himself the focus. The focus is Scripture.
Read the full context and distinguish what is binding for Christians today from what belonged to previous covenants.
Kevin L. Walker is a Christian, husband, father, grandfather, United States Navy veteran, Bible teacher, Christian apologist, writer, and devoted student of God’s Word.
Kevin and his wife, Marilyn, have been married for more than forty years. Marilyn is Kevin’s wife and helper. They have three daughters and three grandchildren.
His family life, military service, professional career, and work in the Lord’s church have all shaped the discipline and carefulness he brings to the study of Scripture.
Kevin served twenty-three years in the United States Navy, retiring in 2002 as a Senior Chief Petty Officer. The leadership, accountability, and integrity required in that career continue to influence his approach to Bible study and teaching.
After the Navy he worked twenty-two years with Florida Blue in progressively responsible roles and later continued as a licensed health insurance professional and business owner.
Far more important than any career is Kevin’s commitment to Jesus Christ and His church. Since obeying the gospel he has served as a deacon, elder, and Bible class teacher.
He has preached from the pulpit, engaged in personal evangelism, Christian apologetics, religious correspondence, online Bible discussions, and writing.
The habits of careful preparation and testing everything by the standard of Scripture that were strengthened in both military and church service are the same habits this website seeks to encourage in every reader.
