THE BIBLICAL PATTERN
GOD’S WORD DOES NOT NEED TO BE UPDATED.
↓
WE NEED TO BE RESTORED TO GOD’S WORD.
The church does not have the authority to change God’s plan to fit the culture.
We do not get to redesign salvation because people find baptism inconvenient.
↓
We do not get to redesign worship because entertainment attracts larger crowds.
↓
We do not get to redesign the church because denominational structures are popular.
↓
We do not get to redesign morality because society has changed its standards.
↓
We do not get to redesign truth because the truth makes people uncomfortable.
Jesus said:
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
(John 14:15, KJV)
The question has never been:
What do people prefer?
↓
The question is:
What has God authorized?
The biblical pattern is not ours to improve.
↓
It is ours to believe, obey, teach, and preserve.
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus…”
(Colossians 3:17, KJV)
BACK TO THE BIBLE.
↓
BACK TO THE PATTERN.
↓
BACK TO THE AUTHORITY OF CHRIST.
THAT IS THE PATTERN.
Don’t accept that conclusion merely because it is written here.
Open your Bible.
Read the passages in their context.
Compare Scripture with Scripture.
Test the conclusion by the Word of God.
And then follow the pattern you find there.
“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:21, KJV)
ALLOW SCRIPTURE TO INTERPRET SCRIPTURE.
