Situation ethics An approach to ethics which gives greater importance to the situation in which an ethical decision has to be made than to any moral system, including the authority of God's Word. It is founded on the belief that the only intrinsically good thing is love. This approach inadequately understands that God's law teaches one how to love. Obedience to Jesus Christ is how we love God (Jn 14:15).
