Once Saved, Always Saved The unscriptural, Calvinist doctrine that once a predestined child of God has been saved, he cannot for any reason thereafter be lost.

ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED? Rom 11:21; 2 Tim 2:11-13; Heb 10:26-31; Jn 15:6; Rom 2:8; Rom 8:13; 1 Tim 6:10; 1 Cor 9:27; Gal 5:4; Gal 6:8; Heb 6:4-6; Jas 5:19-20; 2 Pet 2:20-22; 2 Pet 3:16-17; Rev 2:5; Rev 3:1-5; Jn 15:6; Heb 3:12, 10:38-39, 2:1-3, 4:1; 2 Tim 2:15-18; Lk 8:14

It is possible for a believer to quit believing – 1 Tim 4:1, 5:12

Will there be unbelievers in heaven?

The bible tells us of believers who are lost – Jn 12:42-43.

This doctrine is not taught in the Bible. Baptists and the Bible both cannot be right on this point. It is plainly declared in the Bible that saved people can and will be lost. In addressing those who are saved, James says: "Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins." (Jas 5:19-20).

Paul teaches that "some shall depart from the faith" (1 Tim. 4:1). In an effort to break the force of the plain passages on this subject, It is argued that if a person backslides he was never saved. But no one could "err from the truth" if he was not in it. No one could "depart from the faith" if he were not in it. It is impossible to renounce a doctrine never believed, or to renounce a practice in which one has never engaged.

Jesus teaches in the Parables of the Sower and Fishnet that some once saved, in the kingdom (having been born again, Jn 3:5), will be lost (Lk 8:13, Matt 13:47-50).

"You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace" (Gal 5:4). Baptists say that it cannot be done. Which will you believe? You cannot believe them and the Bible both. Some few Baptists are giving up this false doctrine, but most of them still hold to it. (See 1 Cor 10:12).

Is it possible for a "good tree" to STOP bearing fruit??? (Luke 6:43). How can one be "cast out as a branch and withered" if they were NOT "in me (or in Christ)??? (John 15:6). Yes, a "good tree" can ONLY bear "good fruit" however a good tree can also STOP bearing fruit... (See Jesus parable in Luke 13:6-9). Please also read what Paul said in Romans 11:9-23 specifically verses 21-22, "For if God did not SPARE the NATURAL BRANCHES, HE MAY NOT SPARE YOU EITHER. Therefore CONSIDER the GOODNESS and SEVERITY of God: ON THOSE WHO FELL, SEVERITY; but TOWARD YOU, goodness, IF you CONTINUE in His goodness. OTHERWISE YOU also will be CUT OFF." Go back and re-read Rev 3:16, it was written to the church in Laodicea so how can you say a "lukewarm person was not a Christian, never was??? Read verse 15 for Jesus said "I know your works" and then in verse 19 He says, "As many as I LOVE, I REBUKE AND CHASTEN. Therefore be zealous and REPENT." and He most certainly would not have been talking to those who were NOT Christians... Read what the Hebrew writer said in Heb 12:5-9, "And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to SONS: "MY SON, do not despise the CHASTENING of the LORD, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the LORD LOVES HE CHASTENS, And SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES." If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But IF YOU ARE WITHOUT CHASTENING, OF WHICH ALL HAVE BECOME PARTAKERS, THEN YOU ARE ILLEGITIMATE AND NOT SONS" God REBUKED the CHURCH (Christians) at Laodicea in Rev chapter 3 and told them to REPENT and if they did NOT, then He would VOMIT them out of His mouth!!! (Rev 3:16)...

See the context of verses 14-22. God is talking to a sinful church that has shut Him out...

This goes back to the parable of the Vine in John 15:2 where Jesus said "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;" which is EXACTLY what God told the church in Laodicea that if they would not REPENT, then He would take them away (vomit them out of His mouth)... The same thing goes for the church at Ephesus (Rev 2:4-5) for Jesus said they had LEFT their "first love" and in verse 5 He tells them to "remember from where you have FALLEN, REPENT and do the FIRST WORKS and then He tells them if they do NOT then they would have their "lampstand" REMOVED... One CANNOT "leave" something they have never been a part of... Notice that it is only those who OVERCOME (verse 7) will have access to the tree of Life... It is possible for one to FALL AWAY. (See Hebrews 6:4-8 specifically verse 6). For the church in Pergamos, in verse 18 Jesus tells them to REPENT or ELSE... For the church at Thyatira Jesus also told them to REPENT (Rev 2:21) or else (Rev 2:23)... God does NOT care about (nor rebuke and chasten) the children of the devil (tares)... (See Matt 13:19)... To the church at Sardis in Rev 3:1 Jesus said, "you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead." then in verse 2 He says, "I have not found your works perfect before God"... In verse 3 He tells them to REPENT... Then in verse 4 He tells them there are a few names who nave NOT "defiled their garments"... Finally in verse 5 Jesus says "He who OVERCOMES shall be clothed in white garments" and that He would "NOT BLOT OUT HIS NAME FROM THE BOOK OF LIFE." It is POSSIBLE for one to have their name REMOVED (blotted out) from the book of Life... One cannot be REMOVED from some place they have never been... The doctrine of Once Saved Always Saved is not taught in the Bible...

The facts:

1. The Bible teaches that a Christian can be removed from the grace of God.

2. If we change the gospel of Christ we make it a different gospel.

3. If a person, an apostle, or even an angel from heaven teaches a different gospel, they will be accursed.

4. A Christian can err from the truth.

5. The consequences of erring from the truth is spiritual death (separation from God).

6. An erring Christian can be converted from the error of his ways.

7. If a Christian sins a sin unto death, they are not even to be prayed for.

8. The sin unto death is any sin that is not repented of.

9. When a person repents of a sin, they can be prayed for.

10. Christians can refuse to obey God.

11. Christians who refuse to obey God will not escape punishment.

12. Christians who have received that Holy Ghost can fall away.

13. It is impossible for someone to renew a person who has fallen away.

14. A person who has escaped the corruption of the world can be overcome.

15. Their latter end is worse than where they were bound, which is hell.

16. The Bible teaches that those born of God do not sin.

17. No man can pluck a Christian from Christ's hand.

18. The Bible ties what appears to be conflicting ideas together.

19. The seed is the word of God.

20. When a person receives the word into their heart, they obey God and become Christians.

21. As long as the word remains in their heart, they continue to obey God and cannot sin.

22. No person or Satan has the power to take them from Christ.

23. If a person allows the word to slip from their heart by sinning willfully, they lose their sacrifice for sin.

24. While a person is in that condition, their latter end is worse than the first.

25. It will be a fearful thing for them to fall into the hands of the living God.

26. It is impossible for one to renew them to repentance.

27. Other Christians are not to pray for their forgiveness.

28. They are doomed to an eternity separated from God.

29. Their name is removed from the Book of Life.

30. To change that destination, they must first call to remembrance how they once served God.

31. They must repent and pray to be forgiven.
