New Birth (also called regeneration) Jesus said, "Unless a person is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God" (Jn 3:3-7). The new birth describes a birth comprised of both water and Spirit, a reference to baptism (Acts 8:36; Acts 10:47; Tit 3:5-7). It is at the time of the new birth that one's sins are forgiven and that he becomes a child of God (Gal 3:26,27; Rom 6:3-7; 2 Cor 5:17). All NT Christians have been born again.
