Homosexuality / Genetics Claim
Scripture does not make a scientific claim that same-sex attraction or behavior is either wholly genetic or wholly non-genetic. Therefore the Biblical Pattern should not attempt to establish biblical sexual ethics by saying homosexuality “isn't genetic.”
Modern genetic research likewise does not support one single gene that determines same-sex sexual behavior. The evidence indicates a complex trait with some genetic contribution distributed across many variants, none of which determines an individual's behavior by itself. The moral question and the causation question must remain distinct. Biblical teaching about sexual conduct comes from Scripture, not from an attempt to make genetics prove or disprove God's moral standard.
