Holy Spirit The third person of the Godhead, who dwells in Christians today. He is not a force or an influence but a Divine Person. He is regarded as the author of the Scriptures (2 Pet 1:20,21) and the source of miracles (Heb 2:3,4). In the OT the Holy Spirit was given to particular individuals for special tasks. Since the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit has been given to all who repent and are baptized (Acts 2:38-39). Jn 14:16-17, 25-26; Jn 15:26; Jn 16:7-8, 12-13; Acts 2:1-4; Acts 5:32
