Baptismal Regeneration: The use of this expression betrays the fundamental misunderstanding of our view of Scripture. The water has NO merit NOR does baptism cause us to EARN our salvation. Water is merely the substance that God designated to be the DIVIDING LINE between the lost and the saved. Examples: Namaan (2 Ki 5:14); Blind Man (Jn 9:6-7). Neither Namaan nor the Blind Man felt their compliance with divinely stipulated acts constituted working for their salvation or in some way meriting subsequent blessing. They understood their healing was due totally to the grace of God. So it is with baptism.
