The authority for music in New Testament worship.
Read about worship in spirit and truth, the assembly, and doing all things unto edifying.
Music in worship is one of the most noticeable differences among religious groups today. Some congregations use organs. Some use pianos. Some use guitars and drums. Some have praise bands […]
Most people who worship God are sincere. They may genuinely love God. They may honestly believe that what they are doing pleases Him. But Scripture raises an important question: IS […]
If God has revealed a pattern for salvation and a pattern for His church, we should also ask: HAS GOD REVEALED HOW HIS PEOPLE ARE TO WORSHIP HIM? Jesus said: […]
What does the Bible mean when it commands us to fear God? Through Josiah, Joseph, Noah, Cornelius, and the early church, this KJV study examines reverence, receiving God’s word, refusing sin, obedient…
Quoting Scripture does not guarantee a correct interpretation. Examine Satan’s misuse of a promise, the Sadducees’ resurrection argument, the Pharisees’ divorce argument, and Peter’s warning about distorted Scripture. This KJV study develops…
Knowing God’s will calls for a faithful response. This KJV study examines hearing His word, understanding His will, submitting to Christ’s authority, acting in faith, and continuing in obedience—and the danger of…
Hearing God’s Word is essential, but Scripture calls us to respond. Examine the connected teachings concerning faith, repentance, confession, baptism, practical obedience, and continuing faithfully in Christ.
How should Christians give thanks? Compare eight biblical teachings showing how gratitude should shape our prayers, faithful conduct, appreciation for others, and willingness to do good—even through difficult circumstances.
Jesus, Paul, Peter, and the Psalms give a connected biblical response to worry: seek God first, pray with thanksgiving, trust His care, and attend to today’s responsibilities.
How should Christians use their time? Compare KJV passages on life’s brevity, God’s priorities, attentive study, diligent work, family responsibilities, encouragement, service, necessary rest, and perseverance. Examine the connected biblical pattern for…
The first-day assembly brings disciples together to remember Christ, worship according to His Word, and encourage one another.
Jesus said: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33, KJV) Those words are familiar. But […]
The Bible repeatedly emphasizes the importance of faith. But biblical faith is not merely something we possess. It is something by which we WALK. Paul wrote: “For we walk by […]
Many people sincerely say: “I FOLLOW JESUS.” That is exactly what every Christian should desire to do. But sometimes another statement follows: “I FOLLOW JESUS, NOT A BOOK.” That raises […]
A newborn baby is expected to grow. If years pass and the child never develops, something is wrong. The New Testament uses that same picture to describe Christians. A person […]
Many people are willing to accept Jesus as Savior. They want forgiveness. They want hope. They want eternal life. But Jesus never presented discipleship as merely receiving blessings. He also […]
Nearly every religious person agrees that Christians should be united. Jesus prayed for unity. The apostles taught unity. Division among believers is repeatedly condemned in the New Testament. Yet Christianity […]
Tradition can be powerful. We learn beliefs from our parents. We inherit religious practices from previous generations. We become accustomed to the way our congregation has always done things. Sometimes […]
The word “pattern” is important in Scripture. When God reveals how something is to be done, man is not given authority to redesign God’s instructions according to personal preference. That […]

Many people sincerely say: “I love Jesus.” That is a wonderful confession. But Scripture raises an important question: HOW DOES JESUS SAY OUR LOVE FOR HIM IS DEMONSTRATED? Jesus answered […]
In religion today, people often say: “Doctrine doesn’t matter. Just love Jesus.” That may sound appealing. But is that how the New Testament treats doctrine? The word “doctrine” simply refers […]
There is a question Christians should learn to ask whenever something is taught or practiced in religion: WHERE IS THE AUTHORITY? Not: Do I like it? ↓ Does it seem […]
Examine the particular claims about the church, faith, and baptism by reading the relevant New Testament passages in context. This is an original response; the outside article is not reproduced.
The Sabbath was a sign between God and Israel under the covenant given through Moses. Colossians 2:16–17 tells Christians not to be judged concerning holy days, new moons or sabbath days, describing these as a shadow with the body belonging to Christ.
When Cornelius fell at Peter’s feet, Peter told him to stand because he also was a man. In Revelation the angel refuses John’s worship and directs him to worship God. Faithful servants do not accept divine worship.
Acts 20 calls the elders and then describes those same men as overseers charged to feed the church. First Peter 5 addresses elders as shepherding the local flock under the chief Shepherd. The descriptions concern the same local work.
Ephesians 5 and Colossians 3 instruct Christians to sing, addressing one another and making melody in the heart to the Lord. The stated action includes teaching, admonition and vocal praise. An Old Testament practice must not be transferred into the church’s worship without New Testament authority.
