Mary wrote, "God’s Word can only be understood through the power of the Holy Spirit. You can read the Words make up your own rules, but all it for them is a book with no power. You can’t discern the things of the Bible when all you have is the heart of a man NOT a heart for God. WE have the Personhood of the HOLY SPIRIT and God‘s Holy Word. They just have a dead book." Just like the Catholics who CLAIM they need to have an "interpreter" to UNDERSTAND God's word, these folks make the CLAIM that one MUST have the "Holy Spirit" to INTERPRET the Scriptures for them... The prophet Hosea had this to say about the Jews of OT times, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." (Hosea 4:6)... The Bible has this to say in the NT, "Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is." (Eph 5:17)... Mary wrote, "They won’t ever understand any Scripture we can give them." LOL... This is NOT true for Mary does NOT truly understand the POWER of God's word... The Scripture(s) she does give (which are few and far between) do NOT prove her doctrine at all... Mary wrote, "God’s Word can only be understood through the power of the Holy Spirit." LOL... This is NONSENSE... Someone can read a magazine, a book, a newspaper and UNDERSTAND what they are reading yet when it comes to the word of God, one CANNOT understand without the Holy Spirit guiding them??? The apostle Paul taught that one could UNDERSTAND when they read. (Eph 3:4)... Mary wrote, "According to them the Holy Spirit is not indwelling believers, He was only around for Pentecost for baptism for remission of sins. They base their whole doctrine on that premise. They WILL NEVER the TRUTH because the Holy Spirit doesn’t indwell them." LOL... Mary continues to tell LIES about the beliefs of the church of Christ... The church of Christ does TEACH that the Holy Spirit DWELLS IN every believer... Mary will NEVER learn the TRUTH because she has been BLINDED by Satan and his FALSE DOCTRINE of faith ONLY salvation... I am still waiting for ANYONE to provide the Scripture(s) which teach this doctrine and to date NONE have been provided... They CLAIM they have the Holy Spirit guiding them yet they are LIARS and do NOT have God for they do NOT abide in the doctrine of Christ... (2 John 9). Mary wrote, "They dabble in the Old Testament to tell us that Faith isn’t enough, because they go back to the Law of the Ten Commandments." LOL... Faith is a REQUIREMENT for one to be saved... There is NO SUCH THING as faith ONLY as Mary would have you believe... Mary wrote, "They dismiss musical instruments for the New Testament so they change God’s Word." The TRUTH of the matter is that "musical instruments" are NOWHERE COMMANDED in the New Testament therefore there is NO authority for their use... We are COMMANDED to SING, not to PLAY. (1 Cor 14:15)... Mary wrote, "No wonder they won’t hear God’s Trumpet." LOL... It is a trumpet, of course we will "hear" it... Mary wrote, "The coc have a nasty habit of thinking God's doesn't keep His Word. They change Scripture to suit their every whim." Let's see if Mary will quote my words or other members of the church of Christ where we are guilty of "changing Scripture"... Mary wrote, "God’s Word changed according to the coc. Believers all over the world will be saved from the wrath to come. They think they are an elite group and THEY are God’s chosen people, not the Jews. Well we’ll see how that works out for them. They will be condemned by God for their lack of faith and their mocking God’s Word. Every time we see an LOL by [name omitted] it’s recorded by God." Let's see if Mary can PROVE that the Jews are actually the Jews from the first century... Since ALL records were destroyed in 70 A.D. there is NOT one Jew alive today who can PROVE their ancestry... God DESTROYED the Jews in 70 AD and they are NO LONGER the people of God... It is the CHURCH that will be saved, NOT the Jews... Mary wrote, "“Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.” (Romans 5:9) Notice by HIS BLOOD not baptism. God wouldn’t give us a promise and break it. “ God is not a Man, that he should lie; neither the Son of man, that He should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? (Numbers 23:19)" Jesus blood was shed FOR the remission of sins (Matt. 26:28)... In Acts 2:38 the Bible also says that baptism is FOR the remission of sins... Matthew 26:28 is virtually an exact parallel to Acts 2:38 - Matt. 26:28 eis aphesin hamartion = "for the remission of sins" Acts 2:38 eis aphesin ton harmartion humon = "for the remission of your sins" If Jesus shed his blood "into" (in order to achieve) remission of sins, then water baptism is in order to achieve remission of sins!!! If water baptism is "because of" past remission, then Jesus shed His blood "because of" past remission of sin... Error begets error... Mary wrote, "God didn’t give us the hour of Christ’s coming to encourage believers to work diligently for the souls of friends, family and the lost of this world. It reminds us that we have much work to do and may not have much time to do it. If there was ever a time to be an example, share your faith, and make sure that everyone you know has heard the Name Jesus, it is now." Yes, there is MUCH work to do and if you are going to be saved, it will NOT be through faith ONLY for this doctrine is NOT taught in the Bible... If you want to be saved, then you need to OBEY the gospel of Christ for it is the POWER of God to SALVATION. (Romans 1:16)... Those who do NOT obey the gospel will be LOST. (2 Thess 1:7-9)...
