Forbidding tongues and the purpose of miraculous confirmation
Claim examined: Baptism and conversion
Scriptural Answer
My reply, If tongues is so centrally important, why is the gift of tongues not again mentioned after Acts 19:6 and the book of first Corinthians? Since the miracles in the NT (i.e. gifts of healing, prophecy, etc.) were for the purpose of confirming the newly-revealed word (Mark 16:20), what new revelation (i.e., not in the New Testament) is being confirmed by miracles today?
